Remington Woods is one of the most significant remaining natural spaces in our region, and efforts to protect its environmental value continue to move forward.
In August, State Representative Kaitlyn Shake joined local and state leaders for a tour and update on Remington Woods, providing an opportunity to see the property firsthand and discuss its future.
The sprawling forested property, located along the Stratford-Bridgeport border, provides important habitat and open space in one of Connecticut’s most densely developed areas. For years, conservation advocates and community leaders have worked to ensure the property is preserved and protected for future generations.
For Stratford residents, the future of Remington Woods is both an environmental and regional issue.
Large, uninterrupted natural areas provide habitat for wildlife, support biodiversity, help manage stormwater, and offer important environmental benefits to surrounding communities.
They are also increasingly difficult to replace once lost to development.
Representative Shake has continued to share updates with Stratford residents about the property and the ongoing work surrounding its future.
