Understand your ballot
Stratford’s local voting districts determine your Election Day polling location. State House and State Senate districts determine your legislative races. These are separate district systems; a local district number is not your legislative district number.
The five profiles above cover the legislative districts that include Stratford. Use your own registration record to identify the races for your address, and an official sample ballot to review all offices and any ballot questions.
As of September 8, 2026, the state’s ballot library does not list November 2026 general-election sample ballots. For local ballot questions or help finding your ballot, contact the Town Clerk.

How to vote
Vote by absentee ballot
Request your ballot
Any eligible registered Connecticut voter may request an absentee ballot in 2026. No reason or excuse is required.
The online request portal opens September 19. Ballots may be issued starting October 2; the request deadline is November 2.
Apply through the state’s online request portal (external website), or send a paper application to the Stratford Town Clerk, 2725 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615.
Return your ballot
Follow the instructions included with your ballot, including the signature and envelope requirements. Return it by mail, in person, or through an authorized municipal ballot drop box.
Your completed ballot must be received by the Town Clerk by 8 p.m. on November 3. A postmark is not enough. Request and return it early if you plan to use the mail.

The regular registration deadline is October 16. Eligible residents who miss it can use Same-Day Registration during early voting or on Election Day. Bring proof of identity and Stratford residence, and allow time to complete registration.
