Early voting for the November 3 election begins Monday, October 19. For 14 days, any registered Stratford voter can cast a ballot in person at the Baldwin Center, whichever voting district they live in.

Where and when

Baldwin Center, Studio Room, 1000 West Broad Street, Stratford

  • Every day, October 19–November 1: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 29: extended hours, 8 a.m.–8 p.m.

Early voting is open both weekends, October 24–25 and October 31–November 1. If you are in line by closing time, you can vote. State early-voting locations, 2026 voting guide (PDF)

What to expect

Early voting works differently this year. Instead of sealing your ballot in an envelope, you put it straight into a tabulator.

  1. Check in with election staff, then print and sign your name in the early-voting log.
  2. Mark your paper ballot privately. Staff can explain the process or help if you need assistance.
  3. Insert your completed ballot into the tabulator.

For more detail, read what happens when you vote early.

Not registered yet?

Missed the October 16 registration deadline? You can still register and vote the same day at the Baldwin Center during early-voting hours. Bring proof of identity and Stratford residence, and allow extra time. Same-Day Registration requirements, what to bring

Other ways to vote

  • On Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 6 a.m.–8 p.m., at the polling place assigned to your home address. Election Day polling places are different from the early-voting location. Look up your polling place
  • By absentee ballot: any registered voter can request one without giving a reason. Request it by November 2; the Town Clerk must receive your completed ballot by 8 p.m. on November 3. How to vote absentee

Know your ballot before you go

Your home address determines your State House and State Senate districts. The 2026 Election Guide introduces the Democratic candidates and explains how to find the races on your ballot.
