About William Boyd

A longtime Stratford resident and advocate, William Michael Boyd, is running for Town Council in District 3 to ensure that Stratford’s most densely populated neighborhoods receive the funding, resources, and attention they deserve. With over two decades of experience in finance, entrepreneurship, and community service, he brings a practical, people-first perspective grounded in economic know-how and a deep commitment to equity.

Originally from Stamford, where he graduated from Stamford High School, William has lived in Stratford for the past 20 years. He is a divorced father of one daughter and takes great pride in the community he now calls home. He holds an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies and is currently licensed to sell life, disability, and long-term care insurance, in addition to providing financial coaching to families and small business owners.

With more than 20 years in the financial services industry, William has helped hundreds of clients navigate complex decisions around debt, retirement, and mortgages. He also founded and managed The Look Car Appearance Center in Stamford, serving major hedge funds and institutions for over two decades before successfully selling the business.

A familiar face in Stratford Democratic organizing, he volunteered in both the 2024 State Representative race in District 122 and the 2025 special election for State Senate in District 21. William has also served as a Constable and a Planning Commissioner for Zone II, and has volunteered with Miracle Faith World Outreach for over 30 years, including leadership roles on the Board of Directors and as President of its Federal Credit Union. He has also worked with C.A.R.E. (Citizens Addressing Racial Equity) for more than 13 years, helping to build a more inclusive and accountable Stratford.

Now, William’s running to make sure the voices of District 3 residents are heard, especially when it comes to fair taxation, equitable investment, and fully funded schools. “I love Stratford,” he says. “It’s picturesque and full of potential, but we can’t ignore the imbalance in how resources are distributed across town, nor deny young people the bright future we promised them.”

A firm believer in lifting others as you climb, he’s helped many first-time homebuyers – especially single moms – build financial stability. And while he’s deeply serious about public service, he also has a lighthearted side: he’s a former stand-up comedian who still knows how to work a crowd.

“Politics should be about listening, solving problems, and investing in people,” he says. “That’s what I plan to do for District 3.”
