About Lisa Carroll-Fabian
Born and raised in Stratford, Lisa Carroll Fabian is a lifelong resident, a Stratford public school graduate, a former teacher, and a current member of the Stratford Board of Education. With 25 years of experience as an educator and a proven track record of public service, she is now running for Town Council to continue compassionate and collaborative leadership in District 7.
Throughout her time on the Board of Education, Lisa has become known as a leader who shows up, listens carefully, and does her homework. She has overseen multimillion-dollar budgets, helped shape district-wide policies, and consistently prioritized transparency, accountability, and community engagement. She successfully fought to ensure all affected schools – including Wilcoxson – were included in redistricting conversations and led efforts demanding legal and financial accountability from the Board. Her ability to build trust across party lines and among parent groups has made her a respected and consistent voice for families.
As a working parent raising two daughters in Stratford, one a recent Bunnell graduate and the other a current high school junior, Lisa brings firsthand experience navigating town systems. She and her husband, Keith, have called District 7 home for over two decades, building deep relationships with neighbors, families, and schools in the community they love.
Her community involvement is wide-ranging, including serving as a PTA officer, co-chair of the BHS Post Prom, Democratic Town Committee member, campaign organizer, and advocate for equitable public education. She also volunteers annually with Greater Bridgeport’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and is a familiar face at public forums on local issues, such as education, redistricting, and town accountability.
“I’ve spent years doing the work, not just talking about it,” she says. “Now is the time to take that leadership to the next level. Our town is facing critical decisions, and District 7 deserves to keep a strong voice committed to listening, showing up, and getting things done.”
Outside of politics, she’s an early riser, a meticulous planner, and a self-proclaimed dog person who loves connecting with people wherever she goes. She’s the kind of person who always ends up chatting with someone in the grocery store line — and who rarely makes it out of Target with just one item. But what really defines her is a deep love for Stratford and a steady commitment to doing right by the people who live here.
