Kenneth Pugh
Board of Education

About Keneth Pugh
A proud graduate of Stratford High School, Kenneth Pugh has deep roots in the community and a strong desire to bring accountability and student-focused leadership back to the Board of Education. A Stratford resident from age four, he attended Birdseye Elementary, Johnson Junior High, and Stratford High, where he was a three-sport athlete, captain of both the basketball and track teams, and an All-State performer in three track events.
Professionally, Kenneth brings over 20 years of management experience in the automotive industry, leading sales departments at several Fairfield County dealerships. His background includes extensive work with budgets, cost analysis, and department efficiency, skills he believes are directly applicable to ensuring Stratford schools make the most of their resources. He has consistently led teams to achieve national-level recognition, including placing in the top 10% of dealerships across the country and guiding one dealership through the construction of a new facility while increasing both sales and customer retention.
His community involvement is equally strong. He currently serves as Coordinator for the Stratford Volunteer Corps, is a member of the First Baptist Church of Stratford, and coaches the Stratford Pop Warner 8U football team. Kenneth is married to Samantha Pugh, who is currently an Assistant Principal at Stratford High School, and has three kids: Kiara and Kenneth Jr. who graduated from Stratford High School, and Kaleb who is in 3rd grade at Chapel Elementary.
“I believe the current Board has lost its way,” Kenneth says. “The focus must always be on what’s best for students. I’m running because our families and children deserve leadership that puts them first and earns back the trust of the town.”
