About Carolann Reid
Carolann Reid has built her career around one central belief: when communities invest in people, everyone thrives. For more than 20 years, she has been a driving force in workforce development, bridging the gap between businesses, schools, and neighborhoods to create real opportunities that change lives.
With a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, Carolann brings both professional expertise and a personal commitment to advancing equity. She has led regional and statewide initiatives that connect young people with mentors, prepare them for careers, and strengthen community partnerships. Her leadership has consistently produced measurable results – whether through launching new youth programs, securing grant funding, or building coalitions that expand opportunity.
In her role as Senior Program Director at Career Resources Inc., Carolann spearheaded the launch of Connecticut’s STRIVE program, supporting young people to stay on track in their first year and succeed in career pathways. She manages diverse teams, oversees budgets, and develops strategies that directly impact families and neighborhoods. Prior to that, she led regional programs with Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers, preparing middle school through college students to enter the education workforce.
Her dedication goes beyond the workplace. Carolann has spent her career building bridges between schools, families, and community organizations, always focused on opening doors for youth and adults alike. Her proven ability to bring stakeholders together – from government leaders to grassroots advocates – has earned her recognition, including the Professional of the Year Award (2025) and the Greater Bridgeport Leadership Award (2024).
Now, Carolann is running for Stratford Town Council to bring that same spirit of collaboration and accountability to local government. She believes Stratford’s future depends on fair investment across neighborhoods, transparency in decision-making, and a commitment to creating opportunities for all residents, especially young people who deserve the chance to build their future here at home.
“Stratford has enormous potential,” Carolann says. “But potential only becomes reality when we make smart, inclusive choices together. I want to ensure our town grows in a way that benefits every family, every business, and every neighborhood.”
